16th German Culture days and 20th Jubilee! (27 Sep - 7 Oct 2012)
Two numbers of importance, they indicate the continuity and the importance of events in our city: The restoration of St. Paul's Church 20 year ago and since then its importance in the spiritual, social and cultural life of Vladivostok.
As the speaker of the "Philosophical lectures" (6 Oct 2012) says, "20 years on the way. The Lutheran Church as a meeting place of Cultures".
Year for year we have had the "German Culture Days", always with a theme of Germany-Russia; we recall the Cultural Days of 2011 "Russia and Germany,- what are what are they for one another?" Every year there is a German "Poet and Philosopher" and a theme. Every year special music has filled a very important part, including our Vladivostok organists from Germany. Every year the youthful students have had a part. For information concerning the "glorious" history of the German Cultural Days one has only to go to our website www.luthvostok.com.
Also not to be forgotten is the presence of St. Paul's Church, the oldest church in Vladivostok, in the center of our city. A spiritual meeting place, open for all. We are glad that we are promoted worldwide and thank all our helpers and sponsors!
All this began 20 years ago: "the rebirth of St. Paul's Church, the founding of the German Culture Center, reflexions of Russia-Europe." This is worth celebrating. We are expecting many guests and friends from all the world that we have won on our 20-year journey, guests from Germany, the USA, Russia and the GUS, Slovakia, France, Finland Australia, New Zealand, Korea and even China and South Africa. And it is good that this time there is not only Russia and Germany, but also France and Poland and looking to our guests, the United States take part.
We are grateful for all the people who have accompanied us all these 20 years and finally our God!
